Southeastern Region

Welcome to the Southeastern Region of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). The SER covers the states of Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, the western portion of North Carolina and the panhandle of Florida. The SER is one of seventeen Regions around the world that make up the NMRA. The SER is a nonprofit organization that promotes educational, charitable, historical, and fellowship activities related to model railroading by supporting the goals and objectives of the NMRA.

When you join the NMRA you automatically become a member of the Region for your geographical area. The SER is made up of 16 Divisions comprised of multiple counties and you automatically become a division member according to your county of residence.

There are over a thousand members of the Southeastern Region so there is a wealth of talent available to answer questions, provide advice on modeling techniques and give guidance on contest entries and the Achievement Program. There are currently 25 Master Model Railroaders residing in the SER. Participating in Division meetings, attending train shows, attending operating sessions, going on layout tours, and attending Region and National Conventions provides members with the opportunity to make lifelong friends. And as an NMRA member you can participate in meetings and events in any Division, Region or Nationally.

And I hope you enjoy this new SER website that replaced the old SER website. This new website went live in August 2024. Peter Thomas is the Webmaster, and we appreciate Peter working with the company that developed this new site. There will be lots of changes going forward so be sure and bookmark this new and improved website.
